Katya Bourvis is an award winning Choreographer, Movement Director and Dance Artist with an extensive international performance career. Classically trained at English National Ballet School, she has danced for Stuttgart Ballet, Sadler’s Wells and the Royal Opera House, under the direction of some of the finest choreographers within ballet and contemporary dance.
Since embarking on a freelance career as a choreographer and movement director, she has worked extensively in music promos, editorial and short film. Clients and partners include Polydor, Chanel, Sony, Agile Films, Nowness and Schön Magazine, and Katya has worked on multiple projects nominated for BFI and UKMVA awards.
In 2021, Katya was awarded an Artist in Residence grant at Sadler’s Wells, and she has gone on to direct and choreograph a series of her own films, which have premiered at a variety of acclaimed film festivals and online magazines. In her own work she explores human desire, connection and the possibility of transcendence. Her work is heart-led, and often deeply personal - but with a surreal edge that is humorous, moving and contemporary.
